Anti-Money Laundering (AML) & Know Your Customer (KYC) Policy

Overview

EBteam Global Inc. (“EBteam”) is committed to the highest standards of compliance with anti-money laundering (AML) and counter-terrorist financing (CTF) regulations. Our policy is designed to prevent the use of our services for money laundering, fraud, or other financial crimes.

Customer Identification and Verification (KYC)

To use EBteam’s financial services, all users must undergo a mandatory Know Your Customer (KYC) process. This ensures we know who our customers are and can assess potential risks.

  • Registration: Users must sign up with a valid email address.

  • Identity Verification: Users are required to provide a government-issued ID (e.g., Passport, Driver’s License, or National ID).

  • Additional Data: For certain jurisdictions or transaction levels, we may collect Bank Verification Numbers (BVN), Taxpayer Identification Numbers, or proof of address.

Monitoring and Reporting

EBteam employs automated systems and manual reviews to monitor transactions for suspicious activity.

  • Sanctions Screening: We screen users against global sanctions lists (such as OFAC, UN, and EU lists) to ensure we do not engage with prohibited individuals or entities.

  • Suspicious Activity Reports (SARs): If a transaction is identified as suspicious or potentially linked to criminal activity, EBteam will report such activity to the relevant regulatory authorities without notifying the user, as required by law.

Risk Assessment

We apply a risk-based approach to our AML program. Users may be categorized into different risk tiers based on their transaction volume, geographic location, and the nature of their business. High-risk users may be subject to Enhanced Due Diligence (EDD).

Compliance Officer

EBteam designates a Compliance Officer responsible for overseeing the AML program, ensuring staff are trained, and maintaining records of compliance activities for the period required by law (typically 5–7 years).

Prohibited Activities

EBteam strictly prohibits:

  • Transactions involving proceeds from illegal activities.

  • Providing false or misleading identification documents.

  • Structuring transactions to evade reporting requirements ("smurfing").
